October 24
Beloved of Good Shepherd Church,
Grace to you and peace in Jesus Christ our Lord!
I am so excited for you to meet my dear friend, The Reverend Ben Nelson, this Sunday. Ben is our Consecration Sunday preacher. He is easily one of the most joyful people I know and his superpower is that he has the spiritual gift of encouragement. The most downtrodden people feel uplifted in Ben’s presence because he is constantly encouraging everyone around him. This Sunday he will be encouraging us in our faith journey and inviting us to take up giving as a spiritual practice. You can watch an interview I did with Ben HERE. Then come join us for Consecration Sunday and the Celebration Lunch to follow the 10 a.m. service. RSVP HERE.
This Sunday during each worship you will be given an Estimate of Giving card after the sermon. We will enter a period of silence as each household fills out their card. What you put on your card is between you and God. You will fill in the amount of money your household estimates they will give to God through the ministry of Good Shepherd Church in 2025. You will then be invited to take your card forward and place it on the altar as an offering to God. The intentional act of giving is what matters most. We believe that giving is a vital part of the spiritual journey. When we give, we grow. You may pay your pledge online or in-person or by mail weekly, monthly, annually, or whatever increment of regularity suits you best.
I also want to invite you to join us for an All Souls Evensong on Wednesday, October 30th at 7:00 p.m. in the worship space. At this beautiful choral service we will commemorate all our beloved dead. This pastoral service will surely be a conduit for healing for any who are grieving the loss of a loved one. All are welcome!
Remember this always - God loves you, and I love you too!
Love is all,
Hendree+
