Dr. Mattilda Middleton
Her recordings have aired on radio stations in several states and on the nationally-syndicated program, "With Heart and Voice." She is the author of "Choral Accompaniment at the Organ," a website and pedagogical method for organists.
A versatile keyboardist and conductor, Mattilda Middleton has performed, worked, and studied in the U.S., Europe, and Middle East. In England, she worked as the organ scholar at Bristol Cathedral and the Church of St. Mary Redcliffe, followed by a year at St. Andrew's Church in Cairo. With Dr. Nuha Khoury, she co-authored the curriculum for a music diploma at Dar al-Kalima University in the West Bank city of Bethlehem. Her recordings aired on radio in New Jersey as a guest artist with the Princeton Festival, and on the nationally-syndicated show, With Heart and Voice.
In Indianapolis, Mattilda served as Assistant Organist at Trinity Episcopal Church and Associate Director of Music at Christ Church Cathedral. She holds music degrees from The University of Texas at Austin, Boston University, and Indiana University, where she studied with Janette Fishell, Jeffrey Smith, and Bruce Neswick. She is the author of Choral Accompaniment at the Organ, a former website and pedagogical method for organists now being reformatted into a book. When not at work, she volunteers at the Pride Center in Lexington and spends time with her English Mastiff, Belinda, and two cats, Penny and The Bishop.
