Scott Heersche

Scott Heersche was raised in Lexington, KY and attended Lafayette High School. He holds bachelors and masters degrees in music performance from the University of Kentucky and Indiana University's Jacob School of Music respectively. Following postgraduate doctoral work at UK, Scott served in full-time vocational music ministry as a worship leader and choir director from 2000 to 2022 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Lexington, as well as at Hay Street United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, NC.

In addition to work in the church, Scott taught for Transylvania University, Center College, Methodist College, and held the position of Interim Professor of Trumpet at UK. He is passionate about leadership, organizational logistics, team building, creative solutions, faith formation and the work of the church in building up the Kingdom of God.

He currently serves as Director of Operations and Finance (DOF) for the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Lexington. In this role he stewards the parish's finances, facility, membership and administrative operations.

Scott continues to enjoy sharing musical gifts as a volunteer worship leader, and through performance with local ensembles such as the Lexington Brass Band, the Saxton's Cornet Band, the Soupbone Blues Band, and the Victory Brass Quintet. Scott is married to Jennifer and has two sons, Ryan and Sam.
