Martin Woodford│Junior Warden

I was born and educated in England. In 1978 I was asked by my employer to come to Kentucky with my family for three months, to open an office here. The “three months” never ended, so we never left! It was at that time we started attending Good Shepherd, and with two sons, it wasn’t long before I became involved with the training and scheduling of the acolytes. In 1995 the Rev. Bob Sessum asked Phil Farmer and I to be the first Vergers of the church, a position I still hold.

Although not an historian, I have collected a lot of information on the history of Good Shepherd. Most of the early history has been lost throughout the years and I found much of the written history to be inconsistent, so I have tried to correct the errors from actual documents. This is an ongoing project.

As can be seen I have been actively involved with Good Shepherd for about 40 years, including serving on the vestry and search committees from time to time.
