Guild of the

Christ Child

"You are the one who created my innermost parts; you knit me together while I was still in my mother's womb" Psalm 139:13

What is Guild of the Christ Child?

This is a ministry for expectant and postpartum families. The Guild of the Christ Child ministers walk alongside the expectant family during their pregnancy and postpartum transition to offer prayer, encouragement, and practical support if desired.  There are four different stages of support during this important life transition for parents.

What are the Stages?

  1. During pregnancy, Father Hendree offers a blessing to the expectant family during the 10 am worship service.  Guild members create a unique, handmade prayer necklace for each expectant mother as a symbol of our community's prayers, love, and support.

  2. During the time of postpartum transition, the family receives a gift for the baby and a meal from the Pastoral Care team.

  3. At the point of baptism, the family receives a baptism book from the Children and Families Minister and a handmade baby quilt from the Quilter's Ministry.

  4. On the first anniversary of your child's baptism, the Guild sends a card and Father Hendree invites these children to receive a blessing during the 10am service.

Do I have to partake in all steps?
