Beloved of Good Shepherd Church,
Grace to you and peace in Jesus Christ our Lord!
Sometimes I get overwhelmed by life. There’s a lot going on everywhere I go and everywhere I look. A lot of people are in pain, many are suffering, a bunch of people I know are just confused. I know a lot of folks who are trying to do the right thing in some area of their lives but just keep missing the mark. Folks struggle in their relationships, are plagued by medical problems, and have difficulties at work. I have run into this consistent pattern: just as I am about to descend into despair I talk to you or some other member of Good Shepherd. You tell me what’s going on in your life, and I realize I am not alone. Everybody’s going through something. Then as I listen to you I am inspired by the way you are facing your struggles with such courage and faith. Your tenacity and tenderness turn the tide for me, and I perk up with a renewed energy to call on God to help me with my own challenges. That’s the gift of community. Joining, truly joining, a fellowship of Christians like Good Shepherd is a true game changer. You all are the most amazing, loving people around. I can’t believe I get to hang out with you. The way you tackle life with love and grace is humbling and inspiring and gives me strength.
And the pillows. My goodness, thank you for bringing so many pillows to church last Sunday! Keep them coming! We’re about half way to our goal of 200 pillows for our friends at Chrysalis House. The women there are courageously facing the adversary of addiction and you’re giving them a soft place to lay their head. How wonderful! Would you like to join Good Shepherd? If you’re looking for a community of spiritual depth and abundant love, this is probably the place for you. Emily and I would love to talk with you about joining Good Shepherd. All are welcome! Learn more about joining the church HERE.
Remember this always - God loves you, and I love you too!
Love is all,
