The Good Shepherd Chapter of the

Daughters of the King

Daughters of the King

What is Daughters of the King?

Daughters of the King is an international order of women who pledge themselves to a life of prayer, service, and evangelism. The Daughters strive to fulfill the promises of their Baptismal Covenant through a personal Rule of Life which incorporates a Rule of Prayer and a Rule of Service. They pray daily for members of our parish and others who have made requests.

When do the Daughters of the King Meet?

We meet on the first Sunday of every month to enjoy fellowship, to share in a program for spiritual growth, and to update our prayer list. Once a year, we will have a Luncheon to celebrate the year!

What level of involvement does it require?

There is no requirement! What you put into this group, is what you receive in return.

Good Shepherd's DOK Chapter

Our chapter consists of a 58 of women, ranging from 30-90 years old, dedicated to the support and encouragement of each other. We strengthen each other in our Spiritual life, parish life and commitment to Jesus Christ. We serve one another in Love through listening, active helpfulness and bearing with each other in our daily lives.

Daughters are women who work to spread Christ's Kingdom and we learn from each other that prayer is the foundation from which our service grows. We find the Order of the Daughters of the King to be a safe place where we can be together and support one another in Christ; enabling us to do what He would have us to do.

Good Shepherd's Chapter History

Good Shepherd’s Chapter of the Daughters of the King (DOK), was established in 1967, and we remain strong. Two of four founding members are still present and active. Good Shepherd DOK chapter is currently made up of 58 women of the church. Our Daughters are involved in almost all areas of the parish from the Vestry to Altar Guild, Food ministries, Office support, Bible Study, Cross Quilt ministry, Children’s ministries, and Pastoral Care. Our specific ministries of our chapter are Prayer Day Calls, Sandwiches for the Homeless, and Prayers for the Parish.

DOK Vision Statement

"Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision as members of the Order is to know Jesus Christ, to make him known to others and to strive to become reflections of God's love throughout the world."

How do I become a Daughter?

To become a Daughter of the King, one only needs to have a sincere desire to draw nearer to God and to help others do the same.

If this appeals to you, ask a woman you see wearing the cross to share her story.

If you would like to join us, For His Sake and In Hist Name, Welcome!

If not, please know we are forever here for you and you are in our prayers.

What is the Cross?

We wear the cross (seen in our logo) as a reminder we have a responsibility to bring Christ into our daily life. It is our sacred emblem; we protect it, we identify with it, and we understand the responsibility that comes with wearing it.
