Most beginners fall into spiritual gluttony
“Beginners like these never get tired of reading sacred literature. They dedicate themselves to one meditation and then another, in constant search of some pleasure in the things of God. Justly and with loving care, God denies them this kind of satisfaction.
“Genuine value does not reside in the multiplicity of spiritual activities or in the delight they bring, but in knowing how to gently deny herself within them.
