1st Dwelling (Mansions of Humility) - “as long as we are on this earth there is nothing more important than humility

2nd Dwelling (Mansions of the Practice of Prayer) - preparing yourself with sincere effort and intent to bring your will into harmony with God’s will is the highest perfection to be attained on the Spiritual path

3rd Dwelling (Mansions of Exemplary Life) - “perfection isn’t about consolation; it’s about loving.”  Don’t take yourself too seriously.

4th Dwelling (Mansions of the Prayer of Quiet) - “the important thing is not to think much but to love much.”

5th Dwelling (Mansions of the Spiritual Betrothal) - die to separate self; give ourselves completely to the beloved; prayer of quiet

6th Dwelling (Mansions of Intimacy)- Ecstatic suffering; exquisite pain; penetrated by the divine rapture

7th Dwelling (Mansions of Union or Spiritual Marriage) - the soul experiences union with God
