Chapter 6

  1. There is a place that I can meet God - within.  My ground “where I am held in being by my creator.”

  2. “God utters me like a Word containing a partial thought of himself.”

  3. Contemplation: “a word uttered cannot comprehend the voice.”

  4. To be saved is to find God in myself and “find myself nowhere” this is my nothingness without God (Eckhart)

  5. “The person must be rescued from the individual”

  6. The ego is a “smoke-self that must inevitably vanish”

  7. “We become contemplatives when God discovers himself in us.” p. 39

  8. God dwelling in me and all creation communicates to me all that He is.

  9. Upon receiving His Word and His Spirit I am drawn into God’s own life - Trinity

  10. Consent to the Will and Mercy of God causes a breakthrough in my attachment to superficial things and i find myself in the presence of “hidden majesty”

  11. The is majesty is within us

  12. “Our inner self awakens when we say, Yes, to the indwelling Divine Persons.”

  13. Original sin is our natural self-centeredness

  14. “True contemplation means the complete destruction of all selfishness”

  15. “Put away the whole burden of opinions that we have no obligation to carry.”
