1. First 5 steps on the ladder of divine love that leads to stillness of the soul and union

2. 1st step - the soul is love sick

3. 2nd step - ceaseless searching for God

4. 3rd step - the soul does good works and becomes all the more determined in her search

5. 4th step - the soul experiences persistent suffering without growing tired and weary. “Love makes all burdens light”  reminds me of Teresa -             “Love makes work rest.”

6. 5th step - impatience intensifies as longing for union increases. The soul feels always on the cusp of finding God.
