Book Two: Night of the Spirit│Chapter 1

  1. The soul has emerged from the night of sense

  2. She may stay in this period of emergence without moving on for a while.

  3. “The soul is like someone who has escaped prison”

  4. “She goes about the things of God with freedom and satisfaction”

  5. No longer attached to the discursive mind or troubled by spiritual anxiety, the soul’s interior delights flow more freely

  6. God’s sweetness overflows into the senses with greater ease than before sensory purification

  7. The sensory component of the soul is feeble and easily overwhelmed by the spirit.
